Concrete Playground's Most-Read Brisbane Stories of 2019
As we approach the end of the year, here at Concrete Playground, we stop to take a glance backwards — to take stock of what happened in Brisbane in 2019 and how the city has changed. As always, there's been a lot of notable developments.
Our most popular story of the year — the one that resonated with you the most — was on Brisbane Festival's Fire Gardens, which were subsequently cancelled because of the destructive and ongoing bushfires. The rest of the festival went ahead, though, and saw mind-bending mazes, 90s-themed parties and 908 artists from across the globe descend on the city.
Brisbane's new things also piqued your interest this year, including: a waterfront glamping retreat, an all-natural recreation lake, an adult arcade bar and restaurant dedicated to wings. Oh, and an overseas dachshunds museum. Time to start planning a 2020 trip to Germany.
