Brisbane Events Raising Money for Bushfire-Affected Communities and Volunteers
Wondering how you can help? This is a good place to start.
Australia is currently experiencing one of the worst bushfire seasons on record. More than six-million hectares, thousands of homes and an estimated half a billion animals have been destroyed by bushfires so far. And we're not even halfway through summer.
To help the communities and animals affected, and the RFS Queensland volunteers donating their time, local businesses across Brisbane are hosting fundraising events. There are beers to drink, live gigs to watch and art to ogle — all for a good cause.
Of course, you can also donate directly to charities and organisations, including Givit (which is accepting both money and essential items), the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund, WIRES and the Fire Relief Fund for First Nations Communities.
