Allegria is all about doing one thing, and one thing well: pasta. Handmade, restaurant-quality pasta is the name of the game at this Italian providore, which offers dine-in dishes, fresh pasta and meals to take home, and a concise lineup of Italian groceries and wines. 

Founded in 2022 at its pasta factory in Fairfield, Allegria has now landed in Armadale, opening inside Malvern Central shopping centre, filling a gap in high-quality Italian take-home meals. Pairing traditional techniques learnt through hands-on mentorship in Bologna with Australian produce, Allegria offers customers an Italian eatery where they can dine in, learn about humble yet widely beloved pasta dishes, and then take the experience home to share with their families.

"Allegria is obsessed — in the best possible way — with what makes fresh handmade pasta truly exceptional. From the texture of the sheets used to the minimal high-quality ingredients, from small‑batch sauces to hand‑rolled gnocchi, every detail is intentional. We want people to taste the difference, understand it, and enjoy it any night of the week," says Phillip Maritz, Allegria's CEO. 

The pasta program showcases specially matched pasta shapes and sauces. Fettuccine features truffle and mushroom, whereas rigatoni showcases housemade beef short rib ragu. Hand-rolled gnocchi is paired with sugo, and scallop, crab and fennel agnolotti are elevated with burro bianco. Alongside the star of the show, find thoughtfully curated wines, premium pantry staples and freshly made speciality sandwiches. 

"Premium butchers and grocers have become anchors of fresh-food precincts. Pasta deserves a destination of the same calibre. Allegria fills that gap — handmade, transparent in ingredients, and relentlessly focused on taste," says Maritz.
