Rootstock is all about those words that can cause heated dinner party debates: natural, orange, biodynamic, and sustainable wine. But rather than banging on about what they mean, let's focus on what’s going on at the Italian Forum in Leichhardt.

There's a market with some of the foodie favourites (think Reuben Hills, Kitchen by Mike), chats with sommeliers, tunes by Blue Juice, oh — and some wine.

Some of the wines for tastings will be Giuseppe Rinaldi from Italy, Grace from Slovenia, and Milton from New Zealand. Drop by the Orange Wine Bar to find out what orange wine is all about, or do a masterclass.

If you're still peckish and have some money left in your wallet, head to the long table dinner. Your stomach is sure to be happy after eight courses with matching wines, especially with food in front of you by some of Sydney's best chefs, including Luke Powell (Tetsuya's) and Benjamin Greeno (Momofuku Seiobo).

Sunday, 17 February, from 10am; Italian Forum Cultural Centre, Norton Street, Leichhardt; http://www.rootstocksydney.com
