Overview

Whether sweet, dry or draught tickles your tastebuds, there's nothing quite like a glass of ice-cold cider on a nice spring day. Come September 2, that's exactly The Tudor is serving up, with the Redfern pub throwing their first-ever cider festival.

Aiming to showcase cidery goodness of both the local and international kind, there's no prizes for guessing what's on offer — think apple and pear tipples from the likes of Young Henrys, Batlow Cider Co, Black Brewing Co, The Hills Cider Company, Willie Smiths and even Spain's Sidra Del Verano. Tasting as many as possible is what the afternoon shindig is all about, with five available for $15 and ten for $25.

If all that sipping works up an appetite, pairing your beverages with pork — spit-roasted on rolls, or of the sausage hot dog variety — is also on the menu. And, it wouldn't be a cider fest without a stint of bobbing for apples, now would it? As well as showing off their apple-grabbing prowess, participants can win more cider, naturally.
