Overview

Live music. Outdoors. It’s what Sydney’s made for. So it’s no surprise that the Festivalists' Courtyard Sessions are back. As debate continues to rage over what we can do to boost the scene, the Seymour Centre’s leafy courtyard will demonstrate at least one way of doing it. And doing it well.

Starting January 17 and finishing up as the autumn starts to have its way at the end of March, an upcoming acoustic act will play between 6pm and 9pm. Entry is free — for you, your children and your dogs, all of whom are most welcome. There’ll even be vintage games and roaming performers to keep them entertained while you’re making the most of the bar and the barbecue.

Masters of atmosphere Twin Lakes will come down from Newcastle to open proceedings with their shimmering, melodic offerings. Other highlights of the season include symphonic-minded multi-instrumentalist Christo Jones, lyrical storyteller Forster Anderson, vintage pop makers Goldsmith and folk-blues-bluegrass-roots outfit the Green Mohair Suits.
