Holy Fuck

With music that lives up to the gasping expletive in their name, the pouncing electronic waves that spill from the leads and cables of this Toronto band's equipment is mind-bendingly fun - as is watching them live.

Overview

Being a young person who hangs out with other young people a lot, I'm not often privy to the conservative, secular opinions of those a generation or two older than me. So I really giggled when I shared the story with those other young people, about one dude (Ozzie) flipping out about Holy Fuck's name online. I mean, hasn't he read Romeo & Juliet?

Names aside, Holy Fuck out of Toronto are a band whose music lives up to the gasping expletive in their name. The pouncing electronic waves that spill from the cascading leads and cables of their equipment through any sound system are mind-absorbingly fun — as is hearing and watching them perform live. Lucky for Sydney then that they're playing at Beck's Festival Bar! The FBi night will also feature Melbourne's jaggered post-rock trio My Disco and FBi djs Lexi Savvides and Monk Fly.
