Overview
Halva yoghurt. Israeli date honey. Smoked labne. Over the past five years, Kepos Street Kitchen has been the mouthwatering gift that keeps on giving — and locals keep on coming back. To celebrate the Redfern stalwart's fifth birthday this month, owners Michael Rantissi and Kristy Frawley are hosting a series of mouthwatering Middle Eastern-style dinners over three Wednesday nights.
On November 15 Israeli-born chef Rantissi will tackle sustainable Aussie seafood with a 'loaves and fishes' dinner. On November 22, Rantissi will shift his focus to serving up a whole lamb with local butcher Marcus Papadopoulo. To round it all out on November 29, the event series will end with a vego feast of seasonal veggies (both preserved and cooked over charcoal) and Mediterranean-style cheeses from cheesemaker Kristen Allan.
Each dinner costs $65 per person, with drinks coming in as extra. There will be two seatings per event, 6–8pm and 8.15–10pm. If you're a regular, this is a great way to support your local. If you're yet to check it out, well this is a great opportunity to do so.
