Overview

Humans have an epic crush on playing. It’s in our nature - the pulsing spark that loves nothing more than to discharge itself into the nearest object, creating pure genius from the mundane. An invitation to play should never be turned down.

On August 7, the Powerhouse Museum will smack down a roaring good dose of playtime for Sydney’s creative sods.

First, play with the city around you, transforming it with Jerrem Lynch’s architectural video projections and Denise Litchfield’s ninja yarn spinning. Next, play along with Matt Huynh, Sonny Day and Biddy Maroney, melding words and imagery to create comic mementos. Finally, hit the heights of transhumanism with Dr Bert Bongers and celebrate the playful marriage of human creativity with silicon efficiency.

Whatever hoists your flag, just play with anything you can grab. Because this is the serious kind of playing, kids. The kind that breeds worlds.
