Overview

Screen Live is a series of events which meld together stunningly composed films and visionary musicians to create an innovative art experience. The sixth installment, entitled Brilliant Journeys, is curated by avant-garde Brisbane collective Otherfilm. This left leaning evening will focus in on Australian art cinema, including works from Paul Winkler, Dirk de Bruyn and Arthur and Corrine Cantrill. On the other side of the equation, musicians playing live soundtracks will include Garbage and the Flowers, Joel Stern and locals Holy Balm. Catering to the fundamentalist in all of us, all films will be screened on glowing 16mm, ensuring that the sights live up to the multidimensional live sounds. And to round the evening off, who else could host but Jamie Leonarder AKA Jay Katz of Mu Meson fame? Perfect.
