Overview
When the protest against inaction against climate change saw thousands of Australian youths walk out of their classrooms earlier this year, it signalled an important turning point — the young people of today refused to be ignored any longer. For a lively panel discussion, any array of young activists and strikers, including the MCA Youth Committee, will come together on Saturday, June 1 to consider the overall opinions of Australian youths and, more specifically, how they demand climate justice. This conversation will explore the strategies these young leaders use to engage the government and work alongside their community. It'll also discuss the climate crisis and the roadblocks in the way of achieving a brighter future, giving a voice to our next generation of leaders who will move us into that future.
Strikers! Youth leading change panel will take place on Saturday, June 1 from 10.30–11.30am. It's free to attend but booking is required. This event forms part of the Museum of Contemporary Art's Conversation Starters 2019: Temperature Rising program. To see the full program, head this way.
