Overview

The terrace garden atop the Paramount Recreation Club is seeing out these warm weather days in style, with monthly sunset sessions featuring DJs, natural wine, refreshing cocktails and fun snacks.

Sunsets will run on the last Friday of each month through May, with the next installation coming up on Friday, March 27. Sydney DJs Ariane and Tyson will hit the decks from 5–8pm, while you sip rosé and pét-nat by the glass. Or a world's best Four Pillars cocktail for just a tenner — options include a G&T and one that uses the famed Bloody Shiraz Gin, bitter lemon and grapefruit.

Grifter's pale and cucumber kolsch brews will also be on offer, as will non-alcoholic drinks — including a Seedlip honey and tonic and a lemon aspen 'pilsner'. For eats, think octopus and potato salad ($18), tomato and basil bruschetta ($8), spicy meatballs with garlic bread ($15), and crispy polenta with mushrooms and gorgonzola ($14).

Once the rooftop DJs finish up, you can keep the party going over at underground partner venue Golden Age Cinema, where Background Noise takes over on the same night each month with a series of free live gigs until late. In March, spacey Sydney trio The Goods will headline.

If you miss out this month, you'll have two more chances to enjoy these Friday sundowners — with a set by Don Piano and Adi Toohey coming up on April 24 and a performance by Lex Halpin and DJ Cash Only on May 29.

Sunsets are all part of the venue's new community programming for 2020, which will also include markets, mindfulness workshops, talks, fitness workouts and dance classes. Check out the full lineup here.

Sunsets run from 5–8pm.
