Lovers of markets, creativity and original products rejoice — the annual Big Design Market is back in Sydney for 2024, returning to its Harbour City home inside Carriageworks for three days this September. Over 200 exhibitors and 50 tastemakers from across Australia will be under one roof ready to delight, inspire and give you something to take home.
There are some returning favourites among this year's lineup, with vibrant threads by Vow Studio, traditional NT bush botanicals from Bush Medijina and award-winning sustainable sun-safety products from Solmates, to name a small few.
That sample barely paints the whole picture: you'll also find insightful illustrated products from Merchants of Nonsense, adorable ceramic jewellery holders by Mamools, eye-catching accessories by Stof Studios, cosy AF winter warmers by Wool2Yarn and mystical Nordic-style art and accessories from Wyldling.
Bevvy begetters Archie Rose, Altina, Canberra Distillery, Scylla Distilling Co and more will be dishing out alcoholic and non-alcoholic sips by the bottle, while food vendors such as THICC Cookies, Mount Zero Olives, Cheeky Crumble, Barbell Foods, and That's Amore Cheese will have you feeling appropriately peckish.
Beyond the stalls, keep your eyes peeled for a large-scale installation by guest artist Emma Hollingsworth of Mulganai — you can check out the past creations here. A word of advice: it's a cashless event, so leave the bills at home and have your tap-happy payment options at the ready.
