Darlinghurst Bar The Big Easy Is Delivery Big Buckets of Fireball-Spiked Fried Chicken
Spice up your midweek dinner with some boozy fried chook.
New Orleans-inspired bar The Big Easy is welcoming customers into its Darlo digs once again, but it's also bringing its eats and drinks to you. And that includes items from its newly launched Fireball-heavy menu. Yes, Fireball.
If a giant bucket of fried chicken doused in 16-percent alcohol Fireball hot sauce is your idea of a good time, you'll be happy to know this is a fiery dish you can now get delivered to your couch. For the uninitiated, Fireball is a cinnamon-flavoured whisky that you've probably done shots of at some point. While it may not be your go-to shot, we reckon it's going to be super-tasty poured over a pile of fried chook.
Available to order from Friday, April 17, the six-piece buckets of southern-style fried chicken sit alongside a menu of spicy fried cauliflower, sweet corn hush puppies with Buffalo Trace bourbon butter and a few different bourbon cocktails.
For dessert, you'll find Fireball-spiked pumpkin pie cheesecake, which is heavy on the cinnamon — as you'd expect.
Run by Doug Laming (The Smoking Panda, Brix Distillery and Rabbit Hole Bar), The Big Easy is a two-level spot on Stanley Street with a fairy light-lit courtyard and, usually, a great midweek happy hour. But, you'll need to wait till the non-essential indoor venue restrictions are lifted until you can experience those. In the meantime, though, you can order its boozy fried chicken.
The Big Easy's Fireball menu is now available to order via Menulog.
