Overview
Update Friday, March 11: The Night Noodle Markets has been postponed due to Sydney's wet weather making Prince Alfred Park unsustainable for events. A new date hasn't been announced yet, but you can keep an eye on the Good Food Month Instagram for the latest information.
Next month, Sydney's Night Noodle Markets will make its glorious return for six nights of tasty things on sticks, bowls of noodles, bao and extravagant dessert.
After two disrupted years, the beloved Night Noodle Markets return to Sydney from Tuesday, March 22 until Sunday, March 27. This year, the festival is ditching its traditional home in Hyde Park for another expansive inner-city location.
Popping up at Prince Alfred Park, the markets will offer Sydneysiders the opportunity to get out and fill their night with Asian street food, drinks and entertainment.
Attendees will be able to find an expected mix of vendors including returning favourites Flying Noodles, Wonderbao, Gelato Messina and Twistto. Accompanying the food is a series of pop-up bars and beer gardens from the likes of Gage Road, Aperol Spritz, Rekorderlig and two alcohol-free bars from Dan Murphy's and Heaps Normal.
Between meals you can keep yourself occupied with live entertainment and lion dancers scattered around the markets. Entry to the markets will be free, and it's a pet-friendly affair, so you can really bring along the whole family.
Mr Yum will also be on hand to allow you to order via your phone so you can spend less time lining up.
Like most major events, the last two years haven't been smooth sailing for the Night Noodle Markets. In 2020, it was forced online, offering special meals from local restaurants and selections from its usual vendors via home delivery. Last year, the markets were unable to run at all, but now it's finally time to get excited again.
The markets will be open from 5pm Tuesday–Thursday and from midday Friday–Sunday. Although entry is free, you'll need to register for a ticket via the Night Noodle Markets website.
Night Noodle Markets 2022 will run Tuesday March 22—Sunday, March 27 in Prince Alfred Park, Chalmers Street, Surry Hills.
