Overview
Bring your satisfaction levels to new heights with the new seasonal summer menus at Shangri-La Sydney's Altitude restaurant. Available for summer only, these menus were developed by Altitude's executive sous chef Michele Menegazzi and head pastry check Kumiko Endo with thoughtful wine pairings curated by executive sommelier Matt Herod.
Recently awarded Best Restaurant at the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) National Awards for Excellence, Altitude is perched above Sydney Harbour on level 36 of the Shangri-la Sydney. It boasts unparalleled views across the harbour to the Opera House — even more impressive from its private dining room set in a glass jewel box floating above the harbour that can seat 18 guests. An iconic spot worthy of toasting to life's celebrations like birthdays and anniversaries.
Guests coming for the vista as the sun sets over Sydney harbour can enjoy a three- or five-course set dinner menu or the five-course Chef's Signature menu — with options to add on the iconic wine pairings. The Chef's Signature menu celebrates sustainability and native Aussie ingredients. Nothing like an epic meal with an epic view to match.
Diners can enjoy refreshing tuna sashimi with eggplant miso, luscious scallop and prawn roulade with finger lime and lemon myrtle, tangy kangaroo tataki with lemon verbena leaf and kutjera bush tomato chutney, moreish wagyu flank ox tail tartlet with bone marrow crumble and finish off their meal with a peach bombe alaska with pineapple basil gelato. Find out all the summer dinner offerings on the website.
Lunch diners who come for the next-level view can choose between a two-, three- or five-course set menu with the option to splurge with add-on wine pairing. The seasonal dishes making an appearance on the lunch menus include wagyu pastrami with almond basil oil, koshihikari risotto with celery pesto, spiced chicken farce with chorizo and sundried tomato and, for dessert, boysenberry wagon wheel with strawberry marshmallow and wattleseed sable biscuit. Check out the new summer lunch menu on the website.
Forget grabbing a flat white and bacon and egg roll for breakfast, guests at the hotel or early-rising diners who want to next sunrise over the harbour with a tantalising breakfast can head to the Shangri-La's Sydney Sunrise Breakfast. Enjoy a sumptuous Western Australian lobster omelette with Spanish onion, tomatoes and creamy lobster bisque paired with a glass of champagne. Take your tastebuds to even further heights with black oscietra caviar served on blinis with crème fraiche, chives, egg white and yolks.
Sunrise breakfast is available from 6.30–8am. Lunch is available seven days a week from 12–3pm. Dinner is available at two seatings: Sunday–Thursday from 6–10pm and Friday–Saturday from 5.30–10pm. Both the lunch and dinner offerings include a children's menu and set menus for larger groups. Reservations are required for both lunch and dinner and can be made on the website.
