Overview

Located in the ground floor of a heritage building (that was the former headquarters of Red Cross Australia), Cross Eatery has been offering up healthy eats and superb coffee since 2016. And with former-Mecca barista Marcelo Sota heading operations, it's easy to see why it's so popular.

Early birds can start their day with a coffee and brekkie from 6.30am every Monday through Friday. Plus, there's kombucha and cold-press juice on-tap. The chalkboard menu changes seasonally but reliably features healthy dishes from breakfast through to lunch. Currently on offer is the broccolini, Frekeh and goats chevre salad from the salad bar, a house-cured salmon and horseradish tartine, and a breakfast bowl packed with veggies, slaw and a poached egg. Or, you can grab one of its signature Cross brekkie rolls, made with ham, poached egg and brussel slaw. With communal tables and a bright, minimalist aesthetic, Cross Eatery is a hotspot for health-conscious city folk.
