Overview

A Stage of Ones Own is Pat-A-Cake Productions newest theatre coming to BATS Theatre in August. Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s feminist essay A Room of One’s Own, this piece focuses on the female gender, a celebration of gender fair-play, and a chance for the directors to reconstruct their own female-related experiences.

Four female directors: Lily della Porta, Sabrina Martin, Jody Burrell and Bea Joblin are devising their own pieces with their unique casts and concepts that will come together on stage to create one complete audience experience. By showcasing the work of four woman theatre-makers, Pat-A-Cake Productions aim to ensure that the female voice is heard and it is a dialogue of its own.

For a chance to see work created by some of Wellington's young upcoming female theatre directors, along with a great cast and concepts by their individual projects, you can book online through Bats theatre, or go int0 Bats to purchase tickets in-house.
