Overview

In the throes of winter, it's tempting to default to a hermit-like state. This is often characterised by a predictable nightly routine of dinner and Netflix, rinse and repeat.

If that's driving you mad and you feel like a break, Firefly Cinemas and St Johns Bar and Eatery could have the answer. This year as part of Welly On a Plate, they're serving up a slice of nostalgia with their take on the classic drive-in movie.

Swap your couch for a car and park up in Odlins Plaza for a night of fun flicks and fun food. Watch a 90s movie classic on the outdoor screen (the sound is played over your radio) and munch on St Johns' burger special the 'Cha Cha' from the comfort of your car.

Tickets also include soft drinks, popcorn and sweets, as well as access to a mini arcade featuring your fave retro games.

Find a set of wheels, round up your mates or a date and settle in for an old school movie night. Tickets are $110 for one car with two people, $150 for one car with three people, or $190 for one car with four people.

Visa Wellington On a Plate, the capital's favourite foodie fiesta, returns in August with a month-long celebration of culinary delights. This year's festival invites you to feast your senses, with a smorgasbord of tantalising events, burgers, dishes and cocktails that'll leave you hungry for more. The festival takes place from 1 August - 31 August, across various venues. Event tickets on sale now.
