Overview

Girlpool is bringing its unique indie rock sound to New Zealand this September, stopping by two main centres along the way. The Californian duo, made up of talented musicians Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad, will be performing in both Auckland and Wellington before continuing the tour in Australia.

The pair's latest album, What Chaos is Imaginary, has received plenty of critical praise. Co-produced by Girlpool and David Tolomei (Future Islands, Beach House, Dirty Projectors), it is both upbeat and mellow at the same time, with an assortment of different sounds to create the distinctive Girlpool style. You can expect to hear everything from drum machines and synthesisers to huge guitars, and at least one orchestral breakdown by a string octet.

The Wellington event will be held on Saturday, 7 September at Meow.
