Overview
A celebration of hazy beer and asparagus is popping up at Golding's Free Dive this weekend. From midday Saturday, the much-adored bar will be pouring cloudy beers and natural wines. Some of NZ's most exciting breweries and wineries will be represented, with vino from the likes of The Hermit Ram, Cambridge Road, Lucy Margaux and Tom Shobbrock. Unfiltered beers from Liberty, Kererū, Hallertau, Choice Bros and Garage Project will be pouring too — fans of GP's intense, fruity East Coast IPA Party & Bullshit will be well catered for.
Best known as the force behind Beervana, Beth Brash is hosting an asparagus pop-up to go with all these funky beverages. Tears for Spears pays homage to what is undoubtedly one of the best things about spring, and there'll be different versions of 'loaded spears' plus asparagus rolls that I know will be a lot better than the ones your mum makes at Christmas.
