Overview

What makes a house a home? The four walls of a dwelling are put under scrutiny by multi-award-winning theatre artist Geoff Sobelle in Home, a new work co-commissioned by the New Zealand Festival.

A large-scale performance, the piece "explores and explodes the relationship between a "house," and this thing we call "home"." You'll watch a house appear on stage. Gradually, over many generations and layers of habitation, people move in, argue, grow up, fall in love, get old, party. It's the stuff of life. The seven actors and lice musician Elvis Perkins will envelop you in the rituals and relationships that constitute a home. It's an interactive art installation, with a twist.
