Overview

After the heartbreaking closure of Wellington venues Mighty Mighty and Puppies, a new music space is set to launch in the suburb of Newtown on 167 Riddiford Street. The owners say the aim of MOON is to deliver a fair venue for all musicians with an ethos of humble pie. It will officially blast off with a jam packed weekend of events on August 29 and 30, including performances from Rhombus and Olmecha Supreme frontman Imon Starr, cosmic sound explorers Orchestra of Spheres, dream-pop duo French for Rabbits, Chocolate BOX and Paddy Burgin & Jessie Moss.

As well as a music venue, it can also be considered a dive bar and pizzeria.
