Overview

An inaugural 'three weeks of open slather comedy' back in 1993 proved to be the beginnings of New Zealand's largest comedy event. The New Zealand International Comedy Festival concentrated the country's funniest talent into one all-out, no-holds-barred lineup of laughs.

Gradually, the festival grew and grew into the event it is today - a three-week roadtrip with centres in Auckland, Wellington and smattered across the country. The diverse offering of live shows reflect the talent of our own Aotearoa- some of our funniest acts have treaded the boards of the festival, including the Topp Twins, Brendhan Lovegrove, Ewen Gilmour and Te Radar.

A selection of the best comedy acts from around the world provide diversity (you may recognise names - Simon Pegg, Bill Bailey, Alan Davies; anyone?) and add to the feast of stand-up, sketch, improvisation, comedic theatre, children's and musical comedy and clowning, there is enough there to make anyone chuckle.
