Overview

After taking a year off from the stage to focus on songwriting, Auckland duo Paper Cranes emerged from a peaceful abode in the Waitakere Ranges with 60 full blown songs. They eventually culled that down to 11 for what would become their debut album.

Recorded between Roundhead Studios and the home studio of engineer Nic Manders, The Road Home treads a fine line of folk and pop, and touches on the idea of travelling or escaping and finding places where you feel at home - just like the pair did when they set out on their songwriting journey. Upon its release earlier in the year, it received promising reviews from Metro magazine, NZ Musician and the Sunday Star Times.

The duo, made up of husband and wife Fraser and Naomi Browne, are now ready to escape again. This time they’ll take their album along for the ride on a seven-date tour around the country. They play Wellington’s Meow on May 2 with support from folk/indie trio Little Brother and Sialei.
