Overview

PechaKucha returns with DANCE: The Culture of Movement, a special evening of presentations in celebration of Footnote New Zealand Dance's 30th birthday.

PechaKucha, or 'chit chat' in Japanese, begun as a small creative showcase and has since become a worldwide creative talk movement. PechaKucha nights consists of eight or more speakers following a 20x20 speaking structure - each speakers shows 20 images and has 20 seconds to discuss each image. With the pace kept at a sprint, speakers must keep their presentations lean. Welcome to the no waffle zone.

For this edition of PechaKucha, twelve presenters across various artistic disciplines take the stage with their experiences from the world of dance. Speakers include Lucy Marinkovich, choreographer and former Footnote dancer; Charlotte Crocker, organiser and DJ of the anonymous dancing in the dark events No Lights No Lycra; and contemporary dancer Kosta Bogoievski, who will divulge the innermost thoughts that run through a dancer's head.
