Overview

Nothing says Wellington more than the iconic Cable Car and some of our city's best local creatives. Join the team at Poetry in Motion this February for an evening on board New Zealand's only public running funicular railway cable car, surrounded by some incredible poets.

Poetry in Motion is a local group that aims to bring the fun back to poetry, providing an enjoyable space for creatives to share their thoughts and words. As well as holding a spoken word night at Wellington's Fringe Bar on the first Thursday of the month, they're branching out into even more unique venues that challenge our notions of what poetry is and can be.

Beginning at 7pm on Thursday, 20 February, the experience will include two and a half hours of entertainment, as well as a return trip on the Wellington Cable Car. You'll get the chance to enjoy live poetry from locals Ben Fagan, Sara Hirsch, Jordan Hamel and Tarns Hood. Booking for this event is essential as spaces are limited.
