Overview

Wellington duo. Theatre allies. Husband and wife. Mother and father. Man and woman. Jo Randerson and Thomas LaHood are the creative team behind Barbarian Productions, a Wellington theatre troupe known for its avant-garde approach to theatre. From revealing the inner workings of the Wellington Opera House (Grand Opening) to giving out free haircuts in exchange for some political banter (Political Cutz). For five nights only this dynamic duo return to BATS Theatre with their sell-out show, Soft 'N' Hard.

In this ludicrous (bright yellow) piece of theatre the pair delves into gender and its clichéd constructions. Once upon a time, Randerson was working on a solo about how women have to present themselves in order to accommodate others, and LaHood was doing the same except about how men don't have to do much at all. And so, the natural progression was to explore both sides. Together. Live-on-stage.

Soft 'N' Hard is an hour-long adventure into radical humour, gender negotiations and characterisation, and of course complete absurdity. Brace yourself for a riotous good time.
