There's no better way to celebrate the capital this Wellington Anniversary Weekend than by exploring and indulging in some of the city's best seasonal gins.

OK, that might be a bit of a stretch — but it's still an excellent way to kill a few hours on a summer's afternoon, especially with the promise of no work on Monday.

On Saturday, January 22, the cocktail experts at The Library are holding a Summer Gin Cocktail Class, imparting the wisdom behind some of their most popular drops.

Showcasing gins from prized local distilleries like Southward, Sacred Springs, Reid Distilling and Denzien, they promise to incorporate seasonal flavours like blood orange, smoke, coffee & Sauvignon Blanc. The cocktails will be served with fresh canapés from the kitchen, so you can learn the best bites to pair with each.

Attendees will also be taken through some of the gin trends bound to be cropping up this year, and how to personalise your own at-home creations. Tickets are $55 each, making it the perfect gift for the gin enthusiast in your life, or a way to level up your own hosting game this year.
