Overview

Before the Te Papa team opens the doors to Wonderland (the newest exhibit at Wellington's popular museum) comes the Official Mad Hatters Party — and you're invited.

The event brings the familiar story of Alice in Wonderland to life, blending together live music, themed food stations, cocktails and a first glimpse of the exhibition that will be open to public from December onwards.

The Te Papa team promises the exhibit experience will be immersive and enchanting, sharing insights and behind the scenes material of the story that inspired breakthroughs in filmmaking and special effects. At the event, you can learn more about how the film was made, spend time with your favourite kooky characters, and taste a selection of food and drink inspired by the fictional world.

Tickets start at $69, which include a cocktail. Te Papa advises that this is an event for the adults, so leave the kids at home and take the chance to follow Alice down the rabbit hole.
