Overview

Auckland-based indie-pop quartet The Beths are almost finished their album, and taking some new songs out on a mini-tour to celebrate. Not to be confused with a full album release, this is the musical equivalent of a 'babymoon' before the real thing. Returning to the capital for the first time since 2016, they've recruited some of the finest local musicians for support as they wheel out some new hits, sure to be saturated with their typical charming harmonies and hooks.

Twin brothers Callum and Oli Devlin have been performing together for years, but they've received most acclaim as Hans Pucket, with Jono Nott of Onono. Fans of The Phoenix Foundation and The Ruby Suns will fall for their lackadaisical psychadelic sound, high energy performances and painfully honest lyrics.

Lucy Botting is known to many as the lilting and angelic voice behind Wet Wings, and her most recent musical endeavour girlboss is frank, sweet and sad — and not to be confused with the horrendous Netflix series of the same name. Expect wistful and dreamy guitar pop songs about when Ty Penngington says 'move that bus' and how Robin Williams really was quite a good dad in Mrs. Doubtfire.

This trio of some of Aotearoa's finest acts are playing Meow on 21 July. Tickets from Undertheradar.
