Here's….The Shining, extended cut. With the imminent release of Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining, the Roxy Cinema will be screening the 144-minute edition of Stanley Kubrick's beloved cult classic.

It's a story ingrained in pop-culture psyche. Long-suffering writer, Jack Torrence (Jack Nicolson), and his family take up residence at the Overlook Hotel as the winter caretakers, only to have the hotel grip the family with spooky premonitions, apparitions and not to mention homicidal tendencies.

With an additional 24 minutes to squeal over, fans will be treated with this rare opportunity in more ways than one. Following the screening, there will be a sneak peek of Doctor Sleep (starring Ewan McGregor as adult Danny Torrence) which is set to be released on November 7.
