Overview
It's one of the most endearing images of a Wellingtonian summer — kids leaping off that jump platform opposite Te Papa.
We don't want to admit that we can already feel this summer slipping away from our grasp, but there's still time to make a splash. If you're confident in your ability to pop a quality manu, why not take part in the annual Welly Bomb Comp?
Wellington's very own informal diving competition is open to anyone eight years old or over, and there are different categories you can enter. Get practising while the sun's out and don't miss this opportunity to show the city your best cannonball.
It only costs $5 to $10 to enter, depending on your age. If your bombing is on point, you could be making quite the windfall as there is more than $2000 worth of prizes up for grabs.
There's a stellar lineup of judges too, including Wellington Mayor Justin Lester and MP for Rongotai, Paul Eagle MP.
Make the most of the Wellington summer, and get bombing on the waterfront.
