Cake Society- CLOSED
Head to this freshly baked opening for some sweet sanctuary in the city.
Overview
Wellington's freshly baked Press Hall on Willis Street is proving itself to be a sweet addition to the city. If you're on the go, there is a plenty of choice for breakfast lunch and dinner, as well as after work drinks. However, Cake Society, nestled in the cosiest corner of the hall, is the only spot that has all of these ingredients in one tasty cake pan.
Originally stationed in Porirua, the society has more than 20 years experience in baking and crafting gorgeous edible art. You can order any of the bespoke creations in store, including stunning wedding cakes, ornate macarons and mouthwatering doughnut towers. Owners Beryl Matete and Sami Yousif's talents translate well into the new location, with an enticing cabinet full of pretty little treats, plus a light menu that's ideal for any time of day. Even the fussiest of stomachs are catered for with the great selection of vegan, nut- and gluten-free options. On top of all of this, the service is quick and friendly, meaning you can still enjoy the shortest of your lunch breaks.
Grab a chia tropical smoothie with chocolate waffles for breakfast. For morning tea, treat yourself to a good coffee alongside one of the many flavours of adorable mini cakes. If cakes aren't your thing, the doughnuts can also rival some of the best we have in the city. Cake Society also doesn't skip on the savouries, with great gourmet sandwiches in the cabinet and burgers on the menu. With custom craft cocktails arriving soon, Cake Society should also shape up to be a great spot for an after work hangout. These cocktail evenings will pair perfectly with their shared platters and rich dessert options.
With such a wide ranging menu, Cake Society will hit the sweet spot for a lot of locals.
