Overview

Named after the 12th century founder and emperor of the Mongol empire, Genghis Khan’s calling card is its all-you-can-eat Mongolian barbecue, as well as its status as a BYO.

The Majoribanks restaurant is a regular site for those who like to eat in excess while barely opening their wallets, otherwise known as students. Spend a night at Genghis and watch certain determined group of patrons repeatedly line up for the bbq with offerings of self-selected stir fry-able goods as if on a carousel.

At $19.50 a head, those who aren't as ambition in their dinner conquests (those only after a plate or two of food), could find Genghis' food to price to food ratio actually quite steep. In terms of flavours one cannot critique the Khan. Its DIY assembly line of fresh, medium-standard ingredients means that the only person to blame for a bad flavour combo is yourself. Luckily this also means that should you have any dietary requirements you could easily adjust your meal to suit.

Genghis Khan is a great democratic restaurant for hosting a BYO with a large amount of people with varying tastes in food, but head over there feeling Hungry if you want to make the most of the all-you-can-eat offer.
