Overview

The ASB Polyfest is celebrating 40 years of singing, dancing and entertainment. The festival that began as a humble affair at Hillary College, back in 1976, has developed into a massive, highly-anticipated annual cultural event. This year hundreds of secondary school students will celebrate their heritage by putting on traditional performances, kitted out in an amazing array of national costumes. Groups from schools from all over Auckland will come together in friendly competition — everybody's going to be doing their best and looking their best. The Polyfest is always a marvelous spectacle of talent, bright colours and well-deserved pride.

This year the event will be held at the Manukau Sports Bowl over four full days. There will be five stages dedicated to specific performances—Maori, Cook Islands, Niue, Samoan and Tongan, as well as a Diversity Stage, featuring a range of cultural groups, including Fijiian, Tokelau, Chinese, Korean and Indian. Come along to see some serious talent and learn about the incredible diversity of the beautiful Pacific Ocean.
