Overview

The Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular might not be happening this year, but now there's another event where you can visit all of the country's best breweries in one place.

From Auckland brewpub The Beer Spot comes The Beer Festival on November 6–7. Despite the straight and narrow name, you don't have to be a hardcore beer fan to attend. The organisers say the inaugural event is all about "taking the fear out of beer and experiencing the joy and wonders of Enzee's exciting and flavoursome beers, wines and ciders."

Ticket holders will have the opportunity to meet more than 30 independent brewers, winemakers and street food vendors — and, of course, sample the goods. The lineup is currently being drip fed, but we can confirm that Hallertau, Urbanaut, McLeod's, Garage Project will be in attendance. Food trucks including Ramen Takara and Brooklyn Dogs will be offering $5 food items across each session.

You'll also get a commemorative glass to take home and a sling to keep it safe. The sessions run from 11am–3pm and 4–8pm on both Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7.
