Overview

Tucked away in an unlikely spot in an industrial area of Morningside, Crave is light and spacious with couches to snuggle into on a rainy day, and a warm community vibe. This is feed by the regular community events that are hosted at Crave, as well as the first name basis that the staff share with their regular customers.

They serve good strong coffee made with Supreme beans. They also have a winter warmer of lemon, honey and ginger made with an all natural cordial for $4 and 8 options of a fresh pot of loose t leaf tea for $4.50 each, as well as both spicy and sweet chai lattes for $4. A good range of juices and smoothies are also available if you're looking for something fresh.

The menu is great - with interesting breakfast, brunch and lunch options available. We particularly recommend The Rossmay (spiced and smashed potato cakes, served with green leaf, cross cut aubergine, maple bacon and a poached egg) for $17.50. The fired aubergine has a slightly sweet tang to it which is a great balance to the delicious thick-yet-crispy bacon. The menu has plenty of winter warmers including home-style baked beans, The Woks Porridge and weekly winter soups served with Ciabatta for just $9.50 (you'll have to ask the lovely staff about it as its not listed on the menu). If you fancy something lighter on the stomach and on the wallet, Crave has plenty of cabinet food available - including heaps of gourmet sandwiches, a few salads, cakes and other sweet treats.

Staff are friendly and capable, offering fast service and recommendations if you're struggling to make up your mind. Soft music varying between easy listening and more trendy tracks plays in the background. There are plenty of seats including three large tables, a number of couches, tables for two and bar seats, so that Crave is good option weather you're with a large group of flying solo.

Crave is a little bit out of the way but there is plenty of parking in the area. With wifi available and plenty of space this is a great spot to work, or just have a nice meal with friends.
