Overview

When is a barbershop more than just a barbershop? When it's also a bar as well. Yep, you'll find the best of both worlds at Jimmy Rod's Shave Saloon Bar and Kitchen — and whether you're after a new do, a bite to eat, a glass of whiskey or all of the above, everyone's welcome.

On the hair side of things, that means both ladies and gents can settle into a barber's chair for a trim, though there's more services available for men than for women. But, given the food and drink also on offer, we're pretty sure Brisbanites will soon be stopping by just for the cheese, salami, charcuterie boards and spirits-heavy beverages.

In fact, don't think of the Shave Saloon Bar and Kitchen as the barber chain's latest location; think of it as a cosy inner-city hangout that also happens to cut, shave and style hair. Once you've perused their stacked whiskey list or indulged in a few cocktails — including the Delayed Gratification (made with Bulleit 10, St Germain, Campari, lemon and sugar), Occam's Razor (Kettle One, Lillet, lemon NS lavender syrup) and Velvet Blush (Drambuie 15, Ilegal mezcal, Ancho Reyes, lemon and hell fire bitters) — that's a pretty easy mindset to adopt.
