Freak Street: Radioactive Slime

Netherworld hosts its first ever art exhibition.

Overview

Since opening its doors just over a year ago, Netherworld has been mighty busy. 24-hour pinball marathons, Hawaiian shirt parties, building cities out of cardboard, beer fests, Christmas shindigs, movie nights... the list goes on, and now the Valley venue is adding art exhibitions to the mix.

It all launches at 6pm on April 5, which is when Freak Street's Radioactive Slime show is unveiled. The creative pseudonym for Brisbane-based artist Ben Adams, Freak Street's illustrations takes inspiration from "American pop culture, Japanese monster films, surfing, death, anxiety, and the occasional nice little things that happen in life" — all while sporting a sense of humour and a love of colour.

On opening night, there'll be art, shirts and masks for sale — including a limited run of new Netherworld shirts designed by the artist in question. The exhibition also runs all month, so you'll have something ace to stare when you need a break from mashing buttons.
