The next time that you tuck into a pie, you could be doing a local business a solid. That's always the case if you're picking up your pastries from a neighbourhood bakery, of course — but head to King Street Bakery on Tuesday, March 1 and Tuesday, March 2 and you'll be helping out the Bowen Hills favourite at a tough time for the city.

After a weekend of torrential rain that's led to widespread flooding, nothing is normal in Brisbane at the moment — as everyone in the city well and truly knows. For the King Street Bakery team, it's been a couple of days without access or power to their central kitchen, so they're now hosting a bake sale.

Expect pies and sausage rolls galore, plus make-at-home meals, coffee and juice as well.

You'll need to swing by King Street by 5pm, so that's either lunch, a snack or something for dinner later all sorted.
