Overview

One of Australia's favourite lit events, Women of Letters, is doing a slight, temporary rebranding, simply by dropping their first syllable. Men of Letters brings to the Zoo stage a huge selection of Brisbane's, hell Australia's, best male writers as they rediscover the lost art of letter writing.

Included on a pretty amazing lineup are local hotshots Matthew Condon and Nick Earls. Condon is a regular contributor to QWeekend and penned two of Brisbane's great nonfiction exposes, Three Crooked Kings and Jacks and Jokers. Nick Earls is Brisbane fiction royalty — ask any local reader. He's the author of Australian classic Zig Sag Street, as well as 48 Shades of Brown, Just a Father, The Fix, recently released The Analogue Men and many other bookshelf staples.

Also having a hand in the day's letter writing are James Reyne of Australian Crawl (yes, Australian Crawl!), Federal Member for Moreton Graham Perett, music journo Everett True, country singer James Blundell, author Jack Vening, and comedian Geoffrey Windle. Each will be penning and reading a letter to 'The Woman Who Changed My Life'.

Doors open at 3pm, and wine, cheese, stamps and envelopes are provided. Grab your finest quill and head along.
