Overview
Venture past the main hubbub of New Farm and you'll hit the jackpot in the breakfast stakes. The Little Larder it always filled with locals and those who have come to check out what the fuss is all about. Inside the busy cafe the vibe is relaxed yet cool with bright décor comprising of band posters, interesting artwork and splashes of colour. The large open windows allow the inside to flow seamlessly outside, where you can enjoy brekky and catch the breeze at one of the tables that spill onto the footpath.
If you have a hard time parting ways with your bed on a weekend morning, The Little Larder's got you covered with their all-day breakfasts. After a slow start ourselves, we headed to Moray Street where we were greeted by the fun staff. The team are full of personality (just like the food and décor) and we received excellent service from our waitress, Jordan.
On a hot Queensland day, nothing beats a banana smoothie ($7). It was packed full of fruit and a drizzle of honey and dusting of cinnamon added the finishing touches. Food envy doesn't exist at The Little Larder as all choices are sure to please. The bacon and egg burger with spinach, cheese, potato cake, and smokey BBQ sauce on cornbread roll ($16) is a hearty meal that will keep you satisfied well into the day. Another top-notch option is the pesto scrambled eggs with spinach, tomato relish and leg ham on toast ($16). The potato cake was drool-worthy, so make sure you order it as a side ($5).
Although the cafe is always thriving on a weekend, it is in a quieter, residential part of New Farm and in close proximity to the river. After you've had your fill, take a walk and enjoy the surrounds to make the most of your day off.
