Moon Cycles: Next-Level Bike Rave
This roaming cycle tour brings together lights, music and dance on two wheels.
Overview
The last bike rave from The Sensonauts and Bicycle Junction was postponed due to lockdown. This October the kaleidoscopic event is hitting the streets again — only this time with two new shows.
The Moon Cycles: Next-Level Bike Rave is called 'a journey of the senses'. It invites participants to decorate their bike with lights, adorn glitzy costumes and cruise the streets of Wellington to discover delights along the way. Each stop of the journey will open up another sense, with performance artists crafting different experiences.
DJ/producer/entertainer Marcos Alonso will be providing the soundtrack, while theatre maker Sabrina Martin, award-winning lighting designer Marcus McShane, and chef Mara Masarotti will pop up along the way.
Tickets cost $29 if you're bringing your own set of wheels, or $39 if you'd like to hire an e-bike for the night. Ticket holders will be given a secret meeting point several days in advance. The 30 and 31 October dates mark both the full moon and Beltane, a pagan celebration of summer's return. The backup rain date is Sunday, 1 November.
