Overview
Set in a 100-year-old flour mill in Perth's inner city, the Flour Factory oozes old-world sophistication. Spanning three storeys, the venue heroes artisanal produce, fortified wine and gins from around the world. We have Andy Freeman — ever adding venues to his Sneakers & Jeans group — to thank.
On the first floor, delectable dishes fly from the main restaurant, with the on-site bakery and butchery meaning that almost every component is made in-house. Order the $55 'Feed Me' menu, and your table will be filled with the venue's most popular dishes. Think oozy lamb croquettes, duck fat potatoes and gin-and-beetroot-cured salmon.
There are more than 100 gins to work your way through here. For something special, try the Que Syrah cocktail. It combines gin and one of the Flour Factory's other obsessions, wine, mixing together Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin, Cocchi Rosa, Tempus Fugit creme de cacao, lemon and egg whites. Whatever will be, will be, after all.
The Flour Factory also boasts a hidden rooftop bar — unfortunately reserved only for private functions. The Sherry is a swanky offering with a lush green garden and rooftop terrace overlooking busy Queen Street. It fits up to 80 people for weddings, birthday or extra-special sundowners.
