UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 23, 2020 — Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Norfolk is currently only operating Wednesdays to Sundays. But never fear, it's temporarily moved its Taco Tuesday offer to Wednesdays so you won't miss out on three buck snacks. Happy hour specials — tap beers and house wine for a fiver — are available from 3–6pm from Wednesday to Friday.

The Norfolk Hotel has all the elements of a loved local: a lively and varied crowd, food and drink deals that are actually value for money and somewhere comfy to sit. The pub, located on the corner of Cleveland and Walker Streets, has a bright and ecletic fit-out that spans from the buzzy beer garden, to the sports bar and the 'trophy room'.

The main agenda food-wise is casual Mexican fare — but you'll also find pub favourites like schnitzels, steaks and burgers — and Taco Tuesdays offer the best value for money. Here you'll find $3 tacos from 6-10pm and 15-minute $1 taco 'flash sales' happening twice a night when the bell rings.

Behind the bar, the team sticks to the Mexican theme with Tecate tinnies and a hefty tequila offering. The cocktail menu isn't overly ambitious, although quirky touches are evident, like the Bloody Marys served in tinned tomato cans. And just like the food, the price is right: tap beers, house wines and basic spirits are $7 all day, every day.
