Our first stop is the beloved laneway haunt, Red Hook, which has been serving up Brooklyn-inspired street food since 2014. If you are feeling a bit dusty, we recommend the aptly named Resolution Breaker Burger, with double beef and double bacon, alongside your classic burger trimmings. Want fries with that? We’d highly suggest the bacon and cheese loaded fries, or the waffle fries with smoky mayo. Top it all off with a serve of deep-fried Oreos, and you’ll be in a carb-induced food coma before you can even unbutton your jeans.

Remember those greasy kebabs you used to order during your uni days? Well, these definitely ain’t it. Known for lovingly made Greek food, The Yiros Shop now boasts seven locations across our fair city. If you decided to channel some Lindsay Lohan in Mykonos vibes last night, we would point you towards the wagyu beef yiros, which comes with tomato, red onion, parsley and tzatziki. Or, maybe you’re feeling more of the lamb, rocket and feta yiros with fresh beetroot and crunchy walnuts. The best part is, all the yiros come with the fries already stuffed inside, so you’ll have a free hand to delete the evidence off your socials from last night. If you can’t quite muster up the energy to haul yourself out the door, the guys at Cribb Street Social will do you a solid, and deliver directly to you. The menu includes beer-battered flathead, chicken parmigiana, or even an angus rump steak — all served with chips and salad. Plus, it also serves up toasties and pizzas. We suggest you splurge on the upgraded sides, too, with rosemary-salted sweet potato fries on offer. The only thing Cribb Street Social can’t deliver is its cracking live music lineup, but firing up one of the Cribb Street Spotify playlists should do the job nicely.

With 12 (yep, 12) flavours of fried chicken on offer, you probably want to order the Standard Banquet Feast, where you get to select up to three of your favourite varieties. We’re diehard fans of the Nacho Cheese wings and the Black Dragon (soy and vinegar) flavour. If you’re feeling a little more ambitious, add a few serves of tacos to your order. We’re big fans of the Del Perro (with shredded beef and green capsicum) and the Al Pastor (with pulled pork and pineapple salsa). Bloodhound also has a bunch of vegan and vegetarian comfort food options, including the Keen Wah Burger, with a crispy patty made with spiced potatoes, quinoa and corn. And if you want to truly level-up to feast mode, grab some wings, popcorn chicken or jalapeño poppers to your order.
