$1 Oysters and $10 Cheeseburgers at The Strand Hotel

Darlinghurst's The Strand Hotel reopened last year after a full-venue transformation. The ground floor had become a luxe French bistro, the accommodation had been given a boutique makeover and the rooftop is now a sunlit cocktail oasis. Not content with this swathe of exciting additions to William Street, the venue has now added one of Sydney's best happy hours to its menu.

Running until the end of June, The Strand is offering $1 oysters and $10 cheeseburgers every single day. The deal is available each afternoon 4–6pm and then again for late-night revellers 9–11pm.

There are a couple of caveats to consider. In order to claim the deal, you have to also order a full-priced drink. Plus, you have to order a minimum of six oysters — but who's complaining about six oysters for just $6?

There are plenty of drinks to satisfy any oyster and burger occasion. You can keep it simple with a beer on tap, or throw caution to the wind with one of the signature cocktails like the French Tart (which combines vodka, elderflower liqueur and rosemary syrup) or The Camus ( a peated whiskey, dark rum and chocolate bitters combo). There are also mocktails and non-alcoholic beers on offer for non-drinkers.
