Picnic’s One Night Stand with Andrew Weatherall

His Sydney Festival gigs are long past sold out, but there's still one place to catch Andrew Weatherall. The "world's first proper punk DJ" will be mixing, innovating and being generally monumental all night long at Picnic's One Night Stand.

Overview

If you didn't manage to nab yourself a spot at Andrew Weatherall's Sydney Festival gig before it sold out, you have two choices. One, try your luck at Tix for Next to Nix on Australia Day (hint, it'll be a long queue and an even longer shot). Two, celebrate the fact that he's headlining Picnic's One Night Stand and book. Now. It's no surprise that the early bird allocation is exhausted, but the first release is still up for grabs.

The "world's first proper punk DJ" will be mixing, innovating and being generally monumental all night long — from 8pm until the last dancers leave the floor. Picnic's described Weatherall's presence as a "fifteen levels up" improvement on any previous One Night Stand. They're expecting "one of the most mind-melting shows ever".

As an electronica legend, the globetrotting Weatherall has remixed more artists than nearly anyone else, compiled several iconic releases, taken personal responsibility for pushing Primal Scream's sound to a whole new level and collaborated on cult classics. While he'll be playing the OAF's main chamber, you'll find Marcus King, Angus Cruzman, Steele Bonus and Tyson Koh soundtracking the side room.
