This area of Brisbane has a rich Aboriginal history. The suburb was named after the Coorparoo Clan that camped along creeks south of the Brisbane River. Their name originates from the word ‘kulpurum’, which was the Indigenous word for Norman Creek.
Coorparoo Station is located on the Cleveland Line and is a short stroll from the main hub along Cavendish Road. Buses also operate frequently in the area, taking you to and from the CBD and right across Brisbane. Locals can be spotted pounding the pavements around the suburb, so walking is another option.
